* Move Timestamp/Interval typedefs and basic macros into datatype/timestamp.h.Tom Lane2011-09-09
| | | | | | | | | | | As per my recent proposal, this refactors things so that these typedefs and macros are available in a header that can be included in frontend-ish code. I also changed various headers that were undesirably including utils/timestamp.h to include datatype/timestamp.h instead. Unsurprisingly, this showed that half the system was getting utils/timestamp.h by way of xlog.h. No actual code changes here, just header refactoring.
* Add postgres.h to *.c files for pg_upgrade, ltree, and btree_gist, andBruce Momjian2011-08-26
| | | | | | remove from local *.h files. Per suggestion from Alvaro.
* Fix contrib/btree_gist to handle collations properly.Tom Lane2011-04-22
| | | | | | | Make use of the collation attached to the index column, instead of hard-wiring DEFAULT_COLLATION_OID. (Note: in theory this could require reindexing btree_gist indexes on textual columns, but I rather doubt anyone has one with a non-default declared collation as yet.)

The changes were made with the following 2 commands: find . \( \( -name 'libstemmer' -o -name 'expected' -o -name 'ppport.h' \) -prune \) -o \( -name '*.[ch]' \) \( -exec grep -q '\$PostgreSQL' {} \; -o -print \) | while read file ; do head -n 1 < $file | grep -q '^/\*' && echo $file; done | xargs -l sed -i -e '1s/^\// /' -e '1i/*\n * $PostgreSQL:$ \n *' find . \( \( -name 'libstemmer' -o -name 'expected' -o -name 'ppport.h' \) -prune \) -o \( -name '*.[ch]' \) \( -exec grep -q '\$PostgreSQL' {} \; -o -print \) | xargs -l sed -i -e '1i/*\n * $PostgreSQL:$ \n */'
* Allow float8, int8, and related datatypes to be passed by value on machinesTom Lane2008-04-21

Since this will break old-style C functions (those still using version 0 calling convention) that have arguments or results of these types, provide a configure option to disable it and retain the old pass-by-reference behavior. Likewise, provide a configure option to disable the recently-committed float4 pass-by-value change. Zoltan Boszormenyi, plus configurability stuff by me.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | uses of the long-deprecated float32 in contrib/seg; the definitions themselves are still there, but no longer used. fmgr/README updated to match. I added a CREATE FUNCTION to account for existing seg_center() code in seg.c too, and some tests for it and the neighbor functions. At the same time, remove checks for NULL which are not needed (because the functions are declared STRICT). I had to do some adjustments to contrib's btree_gist too. The choices for representation there are not ideal for changing the underlying types :-( Original patch by Zoltan Boszormenyi, with some adjustments by me.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * new split algorithm (as proposed in http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-hackers/2006-06/msg00254.php) * possible call pickSplit() for second and below columns * add spl_(l|r)datum_exists to GIST_SPLITVEC - pickSplit should check its values to use already defined spl_(l|r)datum for splitting. pickSplit should set spl_(l|r)datum_exists to 'false' (if they was 'true') to signal to caller about using spl_(l|r)datum. * support for old pickSplit(): not very optimal but correct split * remove 'bytes' field from GISTENTRY: in any case size of value is defined by it's type. * split GIST_SPLITVEC to two structures: one for using in picksplit and second - for internal use. * some code refactoring * support of subsplit to rtree opclasses TODO: add support of subsplit to contrib modules
